The 2016 28th Annual Bojuka Judo Tournament will be Sunday, August 28th

The tournament will be held at:
Seaside High School Gymnasium
2200 Noche Buena Ave.
Seaside, CA 93955

Registration and weigh-in:
8:15 AM – 9:30 AM for Juniors (5-12 yrs old)
No later than – 10:00 AM for intermediates (13-16 yrs old)
No later than – 11:30 AM for Seniors Division

Officials Meeting: 10:00 AM

Tournament starts at 10:30AM

Entry Fee $35.00
For second contestant in the same immediate family entry is $30 and also for each immediate family member thereafter. Immediate family is Mother, Father, Sister, or Brother.
Please make checks payable to: BPSA. A $25.00 fee will be charged on all returned checks

Tournament Rules
All matches will be conducted using the current contest rules for Judo as stipulated by the International Judo Federation (IJF), with the following modifications:
1. Shime-waza (choking) and Double Knee Drop Seoi Nage will be allowed for 13 yr olds and older only
2. Kansetsu waza (arm lock techniques) will be allowed in Blackbelt divisions only
3. No standing Waki Gatame in any division
4. Pre-2003 medical rules will be used for injury except for the Blackbelt division
5. Pre-2009 rules for judogi control will be used in all divisions except for Blackbelt division
6. Contest areas will be 6 x 6 meters
7. Safety areas between contest areas will be 4 meters, outside borders will be 3 meters
8. Golden Score for Junior division: 1 minute
9. CARE system will not be in use
10. Initial leg grab in Junior division will result in Shido, next leg grab infraction will be Hansoku Make

Scoring
A decision will be rendered in each match: Ippon= 10 pts Wazari = 8 pts Yuko = 4 pts Decison = 1 pt

Note: If you plan on attending this tournament, you must notify your instructor before going to this tournament. Your Instructor Must sign the competitor entry form before you attend the tournament.
